The Interlude

"The brake, Slayer. It's the friendly little pedal on the left. Know the brake. Love the brake." Spike watched out the windshield as the building got closer and closer, thinking about how horrible Giles's death would be for bribing him into this. "Start loving now. Brake, Buffy. BRAKE!"

Buffy slammed the brake and they slid a few feet, until the front bumper was touching the side of the brick building that housed Joyce's art gallery. Grinning, she shoved the gear into park and turned to face the vampire who was clutching the dashboard. "That was fun."

"Fun?" He turned, looking stunned. "Fun, pet? Which part was fun? Taking out the first mailbox or the second? Hitting the stop sign or the yield sign? Or was it more fun during the time you were half on the sidewalk?"

Buffy poked him in the side and said, "You're exaggerating. I didn't hit a yield sign. That was a mailbox too and who'd put a sidewalk right next to the road anyway?"

Spike shook his head and unfastened his seatbelt. "How in Hell are you coordinated enough to fight demons but you can't even hold the car in the road?"

"The sidewalk is just an extension of the road, and I held it there for several minutes." She sighed and fluffed her hair. It was curly since Spike liked it that way. "And driving and fighting are two totally different things."

"It's not with you behind the wheel, luv. As long as you're driving it's still a fight to stay alive."

"Aren't you just unbearably funny?" Buffy narrowed her eyes at him. "Maybe if you had a car that wasn't so old and huge, I'd have an easier time."

"Don't talk about my car. This is a classic." Spike ran his hand over the door handle. "A DeSoTo sportsman. You just don't see them anymore."

"Do I need to run through a list of why?" She grinned when he growled. "Oh, touchy baby!"

"They don't make cars this sturdy anymore." He shook his head. "Those new little fiberglass deals wouldn't last a second under that lead foot of yours. Be glad I have such a tough car."

Buffy turned as well, facing him. "I'm not that bad."

"You're worse. And you drive with both feet. Use ONE foot!" Spike brushed her hair back and smiled. "Luckily, you're pretty enough to make up for it."

Buffy smacked his hand away and said, "Stop that. You'll distract me and you still haven't shown me how to parallel park."

"Let's park horizontally and then we can work on that." He raised his eyebrow and jerked his head toward the back seat. "I need some incentive. I' m all tense from sucking this seat up my ass trying to hang on."

She smacked him across the arm and giggled. "Jerk."

"I'll gladly let you jerk whatever you want too." He leaned across the seat and peppered small kisses on her neck and ear. "You smell so good."

"You feel so good." Buffy leaned closer to give her more access to her neck.

Spike peeled the strap of her halter-top down and sucked gently on the flesh between her neck and shoulder. He felt her body react instantly, as she arched her hips and sighed out. Grinning, he pulled her lips against his, probing the hot depths of her mouth with his tongue. As they kissed, he slid a hand along her bare thigh and urged her skirt up.

He moaned out when he felt her curls, she wasn't wearing any panties. "Well, that's a nice surprise."

Buffy smiled as he massaged her gently. "And this is just plain nice."

His reply was a muffled groan and Buffy leaned her head back. Losing herself in the feel of his skilled hands, she didn't notice that they had an audience. The squiggly looking, lime green demon advanced on her side of the car and hit the window. Spike bolted upright and glared at it. "Damn!"

"I was thinking more EWW..less damn..but DAMN! What is that?" Buffy wrinkled her nose at it.

He shook his head and pointed at the keys in the ignition. "Start the car. Drive."

"I should fight it." She said. "You've been patrolling with me enough now to know that I don't run."

"Don't think of it as running, think of it as a driving lesson." He turned

the key for her and yanked it into reverse. Sighing, Buffy stomped the gas and they backed away, squealing tires and doing a half circle before she slammed the brakes. Spike had somehow put his seat-belt back on and had put his feet against the dash to brace himself. Buffy looked in the rearview mirror and saw it advancing behind them.

"Spike, how come I can see it in my mirror."

"It's not a vampire." He looked behind them and held his hands up, agitated. "I said drive, pet. Not go a few feet and stop again."

Buffy had an idea, she quickly drove to one end of the deserted shopping center and turned to face they way they'd come. The demon was racing straight for them and Buffy was facing it. Spike looked from her, back to the demon and shook his head. "Don't even think about it! This car is a CLASSIC. Do you know what that means?"

"You said yourself it's built strong." Buffy had one foot on the brake and one on the gas, revving the engine. "Think of this as a driving lesson. A Slayer has to have road rage!"

"NOOO!" Spike screamed and pointed at her feet. "You drive with one foot and you're going to screw up my brakes by doing that."

"I'm knowing the brake, Spike. Loving the brake." She gave him a crooked smile.

"Slayer, if you use my car as a weapon against that….thing." He pointed out the windshield. "I'm going to be about ten times worse than anything you've ever fought."

"Liar." She revved the engine again and winked at him. "Hang on."

"Don't do.." Spike's words caught in his throat as she accelerated.

Buffy closed the space between them and the demon at breakneck speed. The old car had one hell of a motor and she loved the power she felt. The demon seemed to realize too late that she was going to hit it and it crouched low, as if it were going to spring up over the car. Instead, Buffy hit it while it was crouched and felt a thud. Slamming the brakes, she rammed the car into reverse and backed over the toppled demon. She stopped on top of it and put one foot on the brake and one on the gas, letting the rotating tires mangle what was left of the demon. Finally, she pulled forward.

Buffy turned the engine off and stepped out of the car. She groaned when she reached the back of the car, not believing how gross it was. "Spike, you won 't believe what demon road-kill looks like."

When he didn't reply, she turned and got back in the car. He was still braced against the dash with his eyes tightly closed. "Spike?"

"You probably ruined the front of my car?" He snarled.

Buffy's eyes widened and she stepped back out. Sure enough, there was a rounded dent in the front bumper. Shaking her head she got back in. "Nope. Not a scratch."

"No?" Spike opened his eyes and started to get out. "Why don't I believe that?"

Buffy grabbed him and quickly straddled his waist. "We weren't finished."

The vampire growled when he felt his dick react to her. He put his hands on her ass, lifting her skirt. Buffy slid back a few inches and quickly unbuttoned his pants, fishing her hand inside and pulling his erection free. She stroked it for several seconds and slid forward again, slowly sliding herself onto it. Spike hissed into her chest as the warmth welcomed him.

They soon discovered that the roof was too low for Buffy to bounce high enough, so Spike turned them, putting her head in the passenger seat. Buffy put one leg over the steering wheel and one leg over the seat, opening her body completely. Spike opened the door and knelt outside, pressing his mouth to her musky fold. He licked at her for several minutes before the first orgasm shook her, then buried his face against her to devour her juices.

When her moans subsided, he joined her again, gliding into her wet channel with ease. His hips pumped slowly at first, then harder, forcing cries from both of their throats. As she drew closer and closer to climax, Buffy jerked her leg and knocked the car out of gear trying to urge her hips forward. The wiggling vampire never felt them moving, his own moves making him oblivious. They were both rigid and crying out when the car hit the lamp pole in the middle of the parking lot.

"What the..?" Spike sat up and looked out the windshield. "What have you done now?"

"I didn't do it." Buffy sat up as well and grinned a little, now she was home free. He'd never know she dented his car. "Well, I did..but only as a reaction to what you did to me. It's called cause and effect..you caused me to wriggle around so that's the effect."

Spike stepped out of the car, yanking his pants up. He walked to the front and Buffy watched him kick the tire. "You warped my front end!"

"You warped my front end a long time ago! And I like it that way." She had pulled her skirt down and was standing beside him. "Besides, that dent is obviously from the lamp pole so it's a MUTUAL dent. We both caused it."

Spike thrust his hands on his hips and shook his head. "That's where you hit that demon."

Buffy put her hands on her hips and shook her head as well. "You can't prove that."

"Can't I?" Spike leaned forward and wiped a handful of ooze off the front bumper, showing it to her. "I'm not as blind as you'd like to think."

"Oh."

He shook his hand off and glared at her. "I'm not sure which is worse. Your driving or your lying abilities. Or maybe it's your LISTENING ability! Oh wait..it's probably your...."

"Well, since you can't narrow that list down…what's my BEST ability?" She wrapped her arms around his waist and smiled up at him.

"Apparently it's slaying demons with other people's cars."

"Wrong answer. Try again." Buffy began to grind her hips against his.

"So, maybe it's shagging." He grinned at her a little despite his resolve to stay mad.

"And since practice makes perfect…"

"I'm not going to forget about this." Spike growled as she rained kisses along his neck and throat. "Nothing you....do..is going to…ahh…"

Buffy had wormed his manhood out and began to stroke it slowly. "Are you forgetting?"

"You haven't won this round." He hissed as he lifted her onto the hood, sliding into her. "This isn't the answer for everything…oh god…mmm..but it's a start."

"Can I drive home?" She grinned, wrapping her legs around him and pulling him further inside of her.

"Oh yes.." He moaned. "Yes…you can try to do that, pet. But you'd have to stake me to get the keys out of my grip. This is a road we won't be going down again."

"But it's supposed to be my driving lesson!" She whined.

Spike leaned back to look at her and smiled, leaving them connected at the hips. He began to gyrate slowly and said. "This is me driving you wild. I'm gonna drive you crazy in just a few minutes."

Buffy smiled back at him and whispered, "You already have."
